In English - Please

The special English program at our school is designed for students interested in developing their English language skills far beyond the required coursework.

The students participating in this program will have the possibility to study the following subjects in English, taught by a native speaker: geography, mathematics, drama, and literature.

These courses are in addition to the normally required English language coursework.

Other subjects, such as home economics, art, and physical education are planned to be offered in the next study term by Finnish teachers, who are qualified to teach their subjects in English.

The students who enter our special English program will also have the opportunity to develop strong teamwork and leadership skills using English. The pedagogical methods used in the classroom are focused on helping students to develop a healthy self-esteem as well as their fluency in the language.

In the final year of the three-year program each class will study one course of Upper Comprehensive school-level English to further advance their language skills.

Also during the final year at our school the students in the special English program travel abroad on an intensive language course. This course is designed for the students to raise money and plan the trip themselves during the 3 years at our school. This planning process enhances the already valuable experience that our school has to offer.

Tutustumisilta painotettuun opetukseen on keskiviikkona 18.1.2012 klo 18.30.

Soveltuvuuskoe järjestetään torstaina 2.2.2012 klo 9. Koe kestää iltapäivään saakka ja kaikille osallistujille tarjotaan kouluateria.
